Intro To Bayan

  

Beautiful!

                                                               Hello friends and family!

    I’m Coral Estrada am part of this Bayan Community which feels more like a family. We have been together for more than a month now! I’m really happy with all my "kuya's" and "ate's"(brothers and sisters) because we all care for each other and this is what makes this class so special and different. I have never felt so involved in a class before and I enjoy this feeling because I know that now there’s someone else that cares for me and my education.

         


   So let me tell you something about myself. I’m 20 years old, first generation to attend college. This is my 5th semester at SWC and I’m transferring to SDSU in about 2 more years. I’m Hispanic both of my parents are Mexicans and I’m in a class were I'm going to be learning about Pilipino how exciting right? I think that this is a really cool experience because well I have no knowledge about Philippines culture....pretty sad :( But this semester I’m ready to learn and I’ve started learning by using the Pilipino American psychology book. There is much stuff planned out for the semester that is going to expand my knowledge about their culture, Beliefs and style of living.

                     

I hope you come along with me and follow my blogs! And maybe I can make you so interested that you will want to take the class (or a similar one). I now want to go to the Philippines and just look at all the beautiful places I’ve been  seeing online I’m pretty sure there better in person.
